Today Beryl is sitting down with Kwame Whyte, a single mother of a teenage daughter and three furbabies. Recently unemployed, Kwame spends her days immersed in her creative world. She manages the lifestyle blog, misskwame76.com; which as of January 1 2017 has morphed into a platform for her to share her vegan journey. When Kwame isn't looking for a new job or working on her blog, she can be found in her kitchen whipping up a delicious vegan meal.

On today’s show Kwame and Beryl have such a great conversation. You’ll hear:

  • Kwame’s story of grief and how that opened up her path to leaning into fear and being more creative.
  • How she came to the conscious choice to make her blog a purely creative outlet and not a ‘business’
  • Plus Kwame will share her journey to embracing a vegan lifestyle and how her creativity shines through in each meal she makes for her family.

Today Beryl is chatting with Amy Tripple, a professional photography of 9 years who has approached photography as she's approached her life… with enthusiasm, creativity, and love. As a mom of three children she knows why photography matters: moments captured are moments preserved. Amy and her husband Jonathan are a full-time team, working to provide the best photography experience in the Chicagoland area.

Amy's work has been featured in:

  • Parents Magazine
  • Professional Photographers of America Magazine
  • Daily Candy
  • People Magazine
  • Cool Mom Picks

On this week’s episode Amy and Beryl talk about:

  • How releasing the labels we set for ourselves can unlock doors of our creativity we didn’t even realize existed.
  • Amy’s ultimate creative rut and how that actually led to an evolution and expansion of her creative business.
  • The importance of staying open to collaboration with others to live a more connected purpose filled life.
  • And for the readers out there we also share a few books that are inspiring each of us right now when it comes to living a life of creativity and connection!

I believe in the power of magical and radical transformations. Not the kind where you end up a completely different version of yourself than where you started. But the kind where you don’t recognize yourself because you end up the very best version of yourself imaginable.

That's what happened when Kate approached me last year curious and anxious about exploring and learning photography.

A registration at a local Momtographie class got the ball rolling and soon after she approached me with a fire, determination, and passion to transform her learning into a new career path.

Now a year later Kate has quit her 'safe' job in education, is about to move to a new state, and is mothering the most adorable 1 year old while growing and expanding her photography business.

A few weeks ago on the Recapture Self Podcast you heard me sit down with my coach Joanna as we did a vulnerable session together.

Today the tables turn as I coach Kate -- we spend just under an hour in this inspiring session chatting about her journey and exploring the fears and goals she's working on in the months ahead.

What would it mean if we took a magnifying glass to your life as a whole.

And created an experience where life starts happening FOR you instead of happening TO you?

I only work with a VERY select number of 1:1 clients during the year. If you think one of those coaching spots is meant for you and you want to chat about your goals, dreams, and radical transformations -- send me a note. I'd love to talk more.

Today I’m chatting with Megan Flatt a business growth strategist committed to showing Mama CEOs that it is possible to  build a thriving business while staying present for the other things that matter in our lives (like our little roommates.) You’ll almost always find a stash of post-it notes in her bag, a latte in her hand, and at least one lego figurine in her pocket.

Megan is a planning and calendar expert. If you don’t own a business or don’t ever have aspirations of owning one you will still get so much value out of the chat today. Megan and Beryl have been business BFFs for a long while - they even dabbled in some co-teaching projects and joint retreats back in 2014.

Today Megan and Beryl connect over so many topics including

  • The place where business and creativity meet and how they are closely related to one another.
  • Why the idea of BALANCE is a myth as a mom and what you should seek instead
  • How creating structure in your life can lead to less guilt
  • And the importance of scheduling PLAY into your days.

HOMEWORK: Snap a photo that shows how you're SCHEDULING IN PLAY this week. Come follow 'recaptureself' on Instagram. Use the #recaptureself hashtag when you post. Beryl will share out some of your posts this week!
