Today Beryl is chatting with Tsh Oxenreider, a wife, mother, blogger, podcaster, world traveler, and fixer-upper. Basically, she's a mama of all trades! While living in Turkey with her husband she struggled with depression, and through it all, she founded her blog, The Art of Simple, as a creative outlet. She has since found her true life purpose and helps others to do the same!

Tsh recently authored a new book At Home in the World: Reflections on Belonging While Wandering the Globe, and her writing has been featured in the Washington Post, CNN, Real Simple magazine, and more. A graduate of the University of Texas, where she studied English and anthropology, Tsh currently lives in the Austin, Texas area with her family and eats tacos several times a week.

Listen in as they discuss:

  • Finding creativity during a depression, while in a totally new country across the world.
  • How living simply can be completely freeing.
  • Different types of creativity, and how it doesn't always have to mean art.
  • Finding your life's purpose, even when that task seems super daunting.

Alright Recapture self friends, it's your turn. Time for this episode's homework.

You can find Tsh here: http://theartofsimple.net/

Today Beryl is chatting with Marina Gallovitch, an artist, teacher, photographer, and mom living in Illinois with her family. She runs the blog and in-home art studio for young artists Flash Bugs Studio. From traditional art to a passion for photography, to finally beginning this new class for youngsters exploring their art and creativity, Marina shows how you can change your creative passions while staying true to your why!

Today Marina and Beryl chat about

  • How your creative passions may change as you spend time learning and exploring as a mom.
  • The idea that your creative "why" may be even more important than WHAT you're actually doing.
  • Allowing life's natural changes to happen and adapting to live the life you want.
  • How to stay as organized and balanced as possible by planning ahead and not feeling guilty for keeping things simple when they need to be!

You can find Marina's blog and business, Flash Bugs Studio, here.

Today Beryl is chatting with Amanda Rueter founder of the parenting blog Dirt & Boogers. A Mental Health Therapist turned Mom to two boys --- she thought her experience and education prepared her for motherhood, but she had no idea! She now writes to help empower mothers to feel confident in themselves and their parenting so they can build happier homes with their children. She's the force behind the popular Mama's Anger Management eCourse, which has helped almost 1000 Mothers stop yelling and start creating happier moments with their children.

Today Amanda and I chat about:

  • The link between anger, self-care, and fulfillment and how making time for creativity can lead to calmer parenting.
  • The process of redefining play, fun, and joy as an adult and the importance of incorporating all 3 into a moms daily experience.
  • How leading by example doesn’t mean striving for perfection, it simply means showing your humanity and bettering yourself.
  • Plus Amanda will dish details about her upcoming course supporting moms in dealing with and combating anger and yelling.
